What is MP3?

MP3 stand for MPEG layer 3, which is a compressed wave file. It ends with file type extension in .MP3 format. The file size is about 10% of the original uncompressed wave file. Although MP3 is a compressed file, the quality is as nice as the original CD song.

Where can I obtain MP3?

MP3 songs or music can be downloaded on the web. Try the MP3 search engine to look for your favorite song for free. You can also make your own MP3 by yourself. It is a quite easy job, just a few steps. Please refer to the next section for further information about making MP3. 

How do I make MP3?

Making MP3 is not a difficult thing. All you need is the CD, which contains the songs, a wave recorder and a MP3 compressor. Before you get started, make sure your computer have about 50MB free disk space because the uncompress wave file is extremely big. After that you may start making your MP3, the first thing you need to do is insert the CD into your CD-ROM then just play the song and start record it into wave file by using any wave recorder software. After the above step is done, now you should compress it into MP3 by using any MP3 encoder. Please refer to my MP3 software section for further information about the software needed.
